The purpose of a dashboard is straightforward: complex data turned to simplified insights.
Our experience creating executive level dashboards using tools like Tableau and PowerBI have helped communicate complicated problems into quick solutions. A successful dashboard has a few different views:
Executive View- a few main KPIs jumping off the page for a ten-second overview and complete understand
Detailed User View- a more in-depth look at the data. While still in the form of visuals, this view contains actionable insights for future improvements
Prescriptive Analytics- a view that goes beyond the descriptive element of the data. Rather than just detailing what the data says, this view moves towards projections.
Being able to easily transfer between these views is critical for a complete solution.
